Director
Director: The Strategic Architect (3 - 5 Year Horizon)
Directors serve as the crucial link between the Officers' long-term vision and the organization's operational reality. They are the architects of the medium-term strategy for their division, responsible for defining the goals and strategic direction, and empowering their teams to achieve them.
Sets Strategic Direction: Develops and communicates a clear 3-5 year strategic plan for their division. They answer the question, "What do we need to achieve, and why?" They define what success looks like, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure impact.
Empowers Leaders: Focuses on empowering their Associate Directors and Leads, entrusting them with the authority to design and implement the plans necessary to achieve the strategic goals. Their role is to provide the vision, resources, and support, not to manage the tactical execution.
Manages Divisional Health: Holds ultimate responsibility for the financial and operational health of their division. This includes developing and managing the budget and actively participating in fundraising and resource development.
Leads and Develops People: Provides visionary leadership to their teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, high performance, and commitment to the mission. They mentor and guide their leaders, preparing them for greater responsibility.
Builds Key Partnerships: Acts as a key representative of their division, building critical relationships with stakeholders to further the division's strategic objectives
Requirements
Functional Area Proficiency: Demonstrates mastery-level knowledge, advanced education, and industry-leading practical expertise across the enterprise and related functional domains; serves as a recognized authority and sets standards for others.
Senior Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead with clear strategic direction at the division or functional level. Effectively motivates and manages teams, delegates responsibilities, provides constructive feedback, and fosters a positive, high-performance environment aligned with organizational goals.
Advanced Core Competencies: Exhibits advanced strategic foresight, financial literacy, crisis management, complex stakeholder engagement, relationship building, networking, mentoring, and adaptability.
Advanced Communication: Communicates with clarity and professionalism; listens actively; tailors communication to diverse stakeholders; upholds the highest standard of business etiquette in all interactions.
Eligibility: Successful completion of a background check, as required by organizational policy, is necessary to protect the safety of individuals, safeguard organizational assets, and uphold the integrity and reputation of the organization as a tax-exempt charitable entity
Year-Round Expectations
Commitment: An estimated 8-32 hours per week, with variations dependent on event cycles and organizational priorities.
Officer Engagements: Participate in monthly one-on-one meetings with an assigned Officer.
Meeting Participation & Accountability: Attend all internal organizational meetings as scheduled, providing timely notification for any absences. Regardless of attendance, review meeting summaries and ensure completion of assigned action items to maintain operational continuity.
Assignment-Specific Responsibilities:
Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with each department head.
Submit a monthly expense report.
Provide a quarterly finance report.
Presence: Local Directors are expected to have a regular presence at the office and online. Distant Directors are expected to be present online and on occasion fly to Atlanta.
Event Expectations
Commitment: As senior leadership, you are essential to the mission's success and the organization's critical events. Expect to be on shift for 8-10 hours per day during events.
Leadership Support: Provide active support and guidance to Associate Directors and Leads during events.
Event Presence: When available, Directors are expected to either:
Oversee and direct event operations in the event operations center, collaborating with fellow directors and the event operations team.
Maintain a visible presence within convention spaces, engaging with members as an organizational representative and with staff as senior leadership.
Schedule Submission: Submit a tentative event schedule and time-off requests a minimum of eight weeks prior to the event. All revisions must be finalized no later than four weeks before the event date.
Eligibility
Age: Individuals must be 18 years of age or older.
Conflict of Interest: Leads must disclose any leadership positions with any other community based community based organizations that produce annual conventions.

Interview with (1) Officer
Interview with (2) Board Members

Agreements: Applicants must complete and sign the following agreements to be considered active.
